Zadar is a small but very old town in Croatia, Dalmatia. Throughout the centuries, Zadar was almost completely destroyed four times. However, it has miraculously preserved the church of St. Donat dating from the 9th century, the Cathedral of St. Stosia dating from the 11th century and a treasure trove of gold and silver, whose oldest exhibits date back to the 7th century.

This year, fom May 1st to May 5th, Zadar was a host to four international shows and a prestigious International Champion of Champions competition. The shows were held on the grounds of the campsite in Falkensteiner resort. An exception which puts Zadar shows into a list of the most special ones worldwide is definetely the rings located near the sea and the possibility of accommodation in bungalows on the site.

Zadar shows were equally enjoyed by the exhibitors and judges. With such nice dogs in the final it was a serious task for the judges to choose the most beautiful of them.

Supreme BIS winner of all four days was Affenpinscher Tamarin Ticket To Ride owned by Stepina & Bizin from Russia.

The International Champion of Champions competition was held in the historical part of Zadar, at the famous Arsenal restaurant . This competition was judged by renowned judges: Mr Rodi Hubenthal, Mrs Sylvie Desserne and Mr Vibor Ježek. In the harsh competition, the winner was Tibetan Terrier Ti La Shu United Magic Colours, owned by Rauhut Sabine and Katja from Germany.

Exhibitors from 35 countries have already booked their accommodation for the next year, as well as the greet of exhibitors “see you next year” may be the best sign that the Croatian Kennel Club was right when it declared Zadar shows as top show destinations for the spring.
